About the Role

Purpose

To provide accurate and timely accounting and reporting of balance sheet, VAT and recharges and to assist with cash management

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that fixed assets and leases are correctly accounted for each month across each business within UK Processing
  • Complete quarterly VAT return and accounting for UK Processing
  • Manage the cost control and recharge process for central costs by collating the relevant People, IT, HR and Marketing costs in the central holding company, recharging monthly to trading companies and completing the balance sheet reconciliations
  • Collate balance sheet reconciliations from the UK Processing Finance team and complete the balance sheet reconciliations relevant to the role (Fixed Assets, leases, VAT, central costs) ensuring that appropriate reviews and controls are in place
  • Assist with cash management by supporting FD with cash forecasting, assisting with payment approval and management of bank accounts and overseeing Finance Assistant responsible for bank reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve queries and discrepancies, collaborating with the wider finance team
  • Present monthly results to FC and FD
  • Assist with annual budget and external audit
  • Assist with embedding the new ERP system
 
Skills and experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong excel spreadsheet skills
  • Use of SAGE accounting system preferred but not essential
  • Strong financial control experience
  • Proactive approach to resolving queries
  • Strong collaborative style
  • Confident communicator
